Jean-Paul ‘JP’ Fung is a producer and songwriter who’s name has been included in the liner notes of Birds of Tokyo, Jet, Art Vs Science, Silverchair, Last Dinosaurs, Theophilus London, Reece Mastin, Client Liaison, Little Red, Josh Pyke and Cold Chisel. Beginning his career as in-house engineer at Sydney’s fabled Big Jesus Burger (BJB) studios, JP honed his production skills by working alongside renowned Australian and international producers such as Chris Coady, Kevin Shirley, Scott Horscroft, Richard Wilkinson, Eliot James, Eric J Dubowsky, Paul McKercher and Wayne Connolly. With an equally firm focus on songwriting, JP’s ever-increasing network of songwriting collaborators include Audra Mae (Kelly Clarkson, Avicii), Don Walker (Cold Chisel), Megan Washington, Reece Mastin, Nash Overstreet (Hot Chelle Rae), Little Sea and Samu Haber (The Voice Germany) JP’s songwriting catalogue is represented worldwide by legendary Australian publishing house Alberts. JP established himself as a genuine creative talent in 2011 when he was at the production helm of the much lauded debut album by Last Dinosaur’s “In A Million Years”. An ARIA top 10 album and Triple J Feature Album that saw critics nationwide effusive in their praise. In 2015 JP teamed up once again with long time collaborators Birds of Tokyo for the “Anchor” EP, which by late 2015 had achieved Platinum sales in Australia. Whether it’s recording a live band to tape or spending the time to craft a pop masterpiece JP knows how to get the best out of his artists. In the last 12 months JP has been prodigiously producing and co-writing with a raft of Australia’s finest emerging talent including Iluka, Castlecomer, Lime Cordiale, Nova & The Experience, Sex on Toast and Love & Other Crimes. JP is based in a beach side suburb of Sydney and is often assisted in the studio by his feline accomplice LeeLoo.
