Ian Caple is a UK-based multifaceted Producer, Mixer, Engineer and Remixer with an enviable stream of credits to his name Ian has enjoyed working across a musical spectrum that has involved world renowned recording artists and film soundtracks.
Beginning as an assistant Recording Engineer at Abbey Road Studios in the halcyon days of the late 70’s Ian’s career has seen him work with artists traversing every genre including Kate Bush, Ryan Adams, Neneh Cherry, Echo & The Bunnymen, Simple Minds, My Bloody Valentine, The Sugarcubes, Suede, David Bridie, A-Ha, Adam & The Ants, Cabaret Voltaire and Shriekback, a band he still collaborates with to this day. Notably, Ian has Produced and Co-Produced all 10 albums by indie rock outfit Tindersticks. Add to this his extensive body of work with French artists such as Emilie Simon, Cocoon, Yann Tiersen and Alain Bashung, all of whom have achieved either Gold or Platinum status record sales in their home territory.
Ian cemented his reputation as a world class talent when he remixed Tricky’s breakthrough single ‘Black Steel’ which led to forging an ongoing relationship with the Bristol artist that has seen him Co-Produce and Mix Tricky’s ‘Pre-Millennium Tension’(Gold), ‘Nearly God’ and ‘False Idols’ albums.

Other artists ranked amongst Ian’s Remix work include living legends Stevie Wonder and Yoko Ono as well as Spiritualized, Faithless, deUS and Gravediggaz.
Ian ‘s film work includes Mixing the soundtracks for the multi-award winning French film ‘Amelie’ and ‘A Zed and Two Noughts’, composed by Michael Nyman and directed by arthouse doyen Peter Greenaway.
